Chapter 3 – Jonas

‘I got it, baby, I got the stuff.’ Charis beamed as she pushed the hotel room door closed with her ass.

‘You, my love, are a star,’ Jonas Windberg told her as he threw his arms around her thin waist. ‘A total star. Was it a hard thing to find?’

She kissed him full on the lips in a way that made his heart beat a little faster ‘Actually, it’s you who’s the star, mister actor. I went into the bar and asked a couple of staff if they knew someone who might help me find what you wanted, and no one knew nothing until I slipped your name into the conversation. You’ve no idea how obliging people became. It was awesome!’

Jonas loved Charis’s giggles and her smile that lit up the room. In the dullest of places where boredom ruled, she would be the one person everyone wanted to hang around. And she was his, and would do anything he asked of her. He was the epitome of a lucky man.

‘So, where is it, then?’ he asked.

She prised herself away from him, and unfastened the top of the designer handbag he’d bought her. The bag was compact, soft, scented with the faintest hint of leather. It matched her outfit – which he had also bought – perfectly.

Her delicate fingers pulled out a small, clear bag, full of white powder. ‘Right here, Jonas,’ she said as she waved it front of his eyes. ‘It’s just as you ordered.’

He tried to snatch it from her but she skipped away, ‘Are you sure you wanna use this stuff?’ It was cool the way she showed concern for him. ‘I mean, we’ve never done anything like it before, so why start now?’

‘You know why. I’m Jonas Windberg, movie star, and I’m on top of the world! And you and I, Charis, we are on the up. It’s like I told you we would be when we left school with nothing. Didn’t I tell you I’d be a star and you should stick with me?’

‘You did, Jonas. Only, it didn’t feel right wandering around, asking and asking. It didn’t feel right…’

He waved aside her protest. ‘I bet all the big stars do it. Especially at those wild Hollywood parties. You and I will go to those parties soon, baby, and we need to know how to handle this stuff. We need to fit in with all those other movie stars and producers and directors, and all those other smart movie folks.’

She placed her bag on a table beside a couple of empty champagne glasses and a bottle of wine that was chilling in a bucket of ice.

‘Nice,’ she said, her eyes coveting the drink. She put the powder beside it. ‘Don’t go near any of it just now. I need a bath first. I feel grubby, and want to freshen up. And I mean it, Jonas, don’t you dare touch anything until I’m done.’ She pressed her hips against him and kissed his lips until he went hard, then, with a coy flick of her chestnut hair, headed for her bath. For a second, Jonas considered following her to the tub, but the white substance on the table distracted him. The water poured from the faucets and Charis began to sing, but her pretty voice wasn’t enough to entice him to join her. ‘Maybe I’ll try a little bit first,’ he murmured, giving in to temptation. ‘See what all the fuss is about.’
